Project designer “The construction of pCMV-SB/Arresten and application in
tumor gene therapy”.
(Project: We constructed the plasmid using the Sleeping-Beauty transposon to enhance the
security and transfection effective and Arresten gene as the effect endogenetic angiogenesis
inhibitor, then detected the effect in cells and tumor mice model. The project was one of the
top ten medical designs of Sun Yat-sen University, and it got fund supported from the
university education foundation.)

Capped Linearized Vector in EBV Relative Cancer”
(Project: First, we constructed the MEKK1 capped linearized vector; then we verified that
MEKK1 capped linearized vector can evoke the suicide gene TK and kill tumor cells with
cooperation of GCV. Advisor: Jun Du Ph.D.)

Research Assistant, in the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology,
Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-sen University, P.R. China. “The Role of
Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in the Early Stage of Diabetic Retinopathy”
(Project: Sprague-Dawley rats were given streptozotocin while nondiabetic control mice
received only buffer. Human retinal capillary endothelial cells were used to examine
expression of vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF, activating transcription factor 4
(ATF4), glucose-regulated protein 78 (GRP78), and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP).

(Project: B95-8 cells were transfected pCMV-MEKK1, pCMV-RafS621A,pCMV-
RasN17, Akt1 plasmid cooperation with NaB(Sodium butyrate), and results showed that
MEKK1 can evoke the silent of TK and NaB can enhance the sensibility of B95-8 to

Research Assistant. “The Invention of Capped Linearized Vector as a New
General Gene Therapy Vector”
(Project: To avoid the security problem of virus vector and low transfection effect of
plasmid vector, the gene expression cassette was capped by special cap then constructed the
capped linearized vector using GFP as report gene. The results of flow cytometry showcapped linerized vector expressed GFP well in eukaryotic cells.)
